"Puppy Perfection" Training Program (8-12 week) POA

Our "Puppy Perfection" training program provides individual and personalized training during their most crucial development period. As it requires extensive time on our part, it is only available to a select number of puppies per litter. Please enquire prior to the purchase to your puppy.

The program aims to ensure your puppy gets the very best start in life by providing premium socialization and encouraging the correct behaviors during the crucial 4-week window. This is done through a balanced approach with positive, one-on-one handling by an experienced handler with over 30 years of experience specifically with the Doberman breed.

Socialization is a critical part of this training program. All puppies are carefully introduced and socialized with a variety of animals. These usually include chickens, rabbits, sheep, cats and dogs. The pups are also socialized with people (including children) and exposed to a variety of specifically chosen sights, scents and sounds to allow the dog to form positive associations with everyday activities and actions. Introductions are provided to specific stimulus such as water hoses, lawn mowers, beeping and banging noises, a range of workshop tools, you name it!

These careful introductions are performed in a controlled environment and help ensure your puppy develops "nerves of steel" in the real world.

The program also provides positive introductions to:

- Name recognition and recall

- Toilet/potty training

- Crate Training

- Basic manners (no biting or mouthing, jumping up,  ect)

- Introduction to collar and walking on lead

- "Sit" and "stay" commands

Please Note: This is an introductory course aimed at encouraging the best start for your new puppy. It does not guarantee the puppy will be completely trained to excel in the above-mentioned activities but provides the perfect foundation skills for you to continue with his/hers training.

The program does however take the edge off introducing a puppy to your home environment, with less toilet/potty accidents, less puppy crying overnight, reduced biting issues - you get the point!

Please feel free to contact us to determine if this package is suitable for your requirements.

Puppy Development

Our puppies are ready to leave the nest and be welcomed into their new homes as early as 8 weeks old. However,  between 7-12 weeks of age is a really crucial time for your puppies mental development. It's the time a puppies brain is the most receptive to conditioning, both positive and negative. In other words, This is the time puppies form good and bad habits and learn what is normal and not so normal. Naturally, this is the most crucial time for  socialization, more importantly, the correct type of socialization.
Socialization is all about positive reinforcement associated with seeing and experiencing things in the world. Interestingly, many of those things don’t have to touch or interact with the puppy. For example, sitting in your lap eating something delicious while watching a woman walk by who is wearing a big floppy hat may give the puppy a positive association linked to women with big floppy hats.
With this logic, it's easy to see how easy it is to get things wrong and create habits or issues through negative experiences, sone of which most people don't even realize they've happened. In fact, many unwanted behaviors can be avoided if the initial socialization phase is handled correctly.

This is a marriage saving course. Our girl, Bella, stayed with Michael until she was 12 weeks old and the results were fantastic. From the day we picked her up she could sit and walk on the lead, she loved sleeping in her crate, and only ever had one toilet accident inside the house the entire time.

Highly recommend. We opted to let Mick take care of the first few weeks which are the hardest. We were very impressed how well-behaved our boy, Cheif, was from the day one. No biting issues, no jumping-up. He even walked on the lead and would come when you call him. Just brilliant.
